Gutters are one of the most overlooked parts of your home’s exterior until something goes wrong. By then you’ve got water backing up under your roofline, pooling against your foundation, or freezing into ice dams that force moisture under your shingles and into your home. A clogged or failing gutter system is one of the most common causes of preventable roof and foundation damage we see across the FM area. At Roof Keepers we clean your gutters thoroughly, flush your downspouts, inspect the full system while we’re up there, and tell you honestly if anything needs attention.
Fargo’s climate creates a specific and predictable cycle of gutter damage that we see on homes across West Fargo, Moorhead, Dilworth, Horace, and south Fargo neighborhoods every single year. Leaves and debris accumulate through the fall. Water sits in clogged gutters as temperatures drop. That standing water freezes, expands, and forces its way under your roofline and behind your fascia boards. Come spring the ice melts and the water that has been sitting against your foundation all winter starts showing up in basements and crawl spaces across the FM area.
The fix is simple and inexpensive compared to what it costs to repair the damage. Regular gutter cleaning twice a year, once in the fall before freeze-up and once in the spring after snowmelt, is one of the highest ROI maintenance tasks a Fargo homeowner can do to protect their property.
When Roof Keepers cleans your gutters we do not do a quick scoop and go. Here is what every gutter cleaning service includes:
Full debris removal from all gutters including leaves, shingle granules, dirt buildup, and any other material blocking water flow.
Downspout flushing to make sure water can move freely from your gutters all the way to ground level and away from your foundation.
Full gutter system inspection while we are on the roof. We check for loose hangers, leaky seams, improper slope, sagging sections, and any signs of damage that could affect drainage performance.
Roof and valley inspection while we are up there. We look for any debris accumulation in your roof valleys, around skylights, and at penetration points that could cause moisture issues.
Honest report of what we find. If we spot anything that needs attention we will tell you about it clearly before recommending any work. No pressure, no manufactured urgency.
Roof Keepers provides professional gutter cleaning services throughout the Fargo metro area and surrounding communities. We are locally owned, veteran operated, and have been protecting FM area homes with honest roof and gutter maintenance for over five years. When we clean your gutters you get a contractor who is also looking at your roof while they are up there, which means problems get caught early before they become expensive repairs.
Regular gutter maintenance is one of the simplest investments you can make in your home. Call us at (701) 430-8500 or schedule your service online and we will get you on the schedule before the next Fargo season change.

We had concerns about a slumping spot on our roof and they came out within a day to do an assessment that gave us peace of mind. They also did a fine job of clearing tree branches off the roof to prevent them from damaging shingles. Xander was great to work with. All in all a five star experience.Posted on Google Brad OlsonTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Everyone was very professional.Posted on Google Scotti FriederichsTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Last week our neighbor told us he could see our roof had a hole in it from his deck. Today I called Roof Keepers and Zac said he would send Zander out to tell us how bad the damage was - same day. Zander was awesome, gave us photos, great advice, and did an excellent job. We will be calling the Roof Keepers team for any future roofing needs. I think their maintenance package is also a really smart, affordable idea for any other homeowners that don't like getting on their roof. Better to get frequent inspections than get blindsided with a preventable issue that can cost you a ton in the future.Posted on Google Brian batesTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Had them patch a few shingles that took a few hits during a recent storm. They came out the next day after I called to inspect and they fixed it the very next day super easy to deal with. Would like to say that there are also very affordable. Would happily recommend them to anybodyPosted on Google Jenna CorbettTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I had a great experience with this roofing company. They came out promptly and performed a thorough, free hail inspection without any pressure or sales tactics. While they were on my roof, they also took the time to cover some exposed rusty nails that could have become a problem down the road. I really appreciated their honesty, professionalism, and attention to detail. It’s clear they genuinely care about their customers and the quality of their work. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a trustworthy roofing company.Verified by TrustindexTrustindex verified badge is the Universal Symbol of Trust. Q: How often should I have my gutters cleaned in Fargo?
A: At minimum twice a year. Once in the fall after the leaves have dropped and before temperatures drop below freezing, and once in the spring after snowmelt to flush out anything that accumulated over winter. Homes with heavy tree coverage may benefit from more frequent cleaning.
Q: Can clogged gutters cause roof damage?
A: Yes. Clogged gutters cause water to back up under your roofline which can damage fascia boards, rot soffit panels, and contribute to ice dam formation that forces water under your shingles. The roof damage caused by neglected gutters often costs far more to repair than regular gutter cleaning would have.
Q: Do you inspect the roof while cleaning gutters?
A: Yes. While we are on your roof we inspect your shingles, valleys, flashings, and penetration points at no extra charge. If we find anything that needs attention we will tell you about it honestly before recommending any work.
Q: Can I remove ice dams myself with an ice pick or shovel?
A: We strongly recommend against it. Chipping away at ice dams with an ice pick, shovel, or any hard tool almost always damages your shingles in the process. Asphalt shingles are already brittle in cold temperatures and one wrong strike can crack, gouge, or dislodge shingles that were otherwise fine. Ice dam removal requires steamers and hot water equipment that melt the ice safely without contacting the shingle surface. Call us and we will handle it the right way.
